Multiple injuries reported after school bus crash in D.C.

Vehicle accidents are not something that should be taken lightly, particularly when injuries are involved. Those injured in car accidents can be faced with an array of challenges after a crash, including medical expenses, lost wages and other serious damages.

A multicar accident involving a school bus in Washington, D.C., has left a number of people injured and facing these types of uncertainties and challenges. The terrifying four-vehicle crash sent 21 people to the hospital around 8 a.m. on Nov. 26. Police report that a school bus was traveling west on Nebraska Avenue when it was forced to swerve to avoid striking a vehicle that had turned into oncoming traffic from the opposite direction. The quick swerve caused the school bus to leave the roadway and strike two other vehicles.

Eighteen children who were traveling aboard the bus were examined, and one teenage boy was seriously injured after being ejected from the bus. The bus driver sustained a broken ankle in the accident.

Five victims with minor injuries were transported to the hospital via ambulance. Sixteen people were taken to the hospital for examination as a precaution.

With serious financial and medical consequences a real possibility, victims of car accidents may suffer a great deal. Some may experience pain and hardship well into the future. In order to compensate those who have suffered from the negligence of another driver, people who have been injured in a car accident have the right to pursue civil litigation to recover damages for the discomfort that they have had to endure.
